Shanghai Ocean Aquarium is located at 1388 Lujiazui Ring Road, Pudong New Area, Shanghai, China, which is adjacent to the Oriental Pearl Tower. A joint investment of USD 55 million by Singapore-based Straco Corporation Limited and China Poly Group was injected to build Shanghai Ocean Aquarium with a floor area of 20,500 square meters. Opened to the public in February 2002, it receives more than 1 million visitors from all over the world each year, and Shanghai Ocean Aquarium has been awarded the title of National Science Education Base of China and Shanghai, which is also one of the largest artificial seawater aquariums in the world.
